My research interests are in the fields of plant ecology, isotope geochemistry, paleoclimatology, and paleoecology. I utilize stable isotope ratios and abundances of organic molecules to constrain the physical and environmental conditions of modern and ancient oceans, terrestrial ecosystems, and atmospheres. In addition, I use trace element analysis and strontium isotope ratios of organic tissues and waters to trace material history, biogeochemical cycling, and environmental interactions.
